Cookies
Locksmith100 stores nothing on the device of a driver or visitor. One cookie keeps verified locksmiths and our team signed in. No advertising or analytics cookies, so no banner.
Draft, under legal review. This page and our cookie use are being checked by a UK solicitor and are not yet in force. The operator's name, address and contact details are placeholders.
Draft of 26 October 2026.
What we store, and why
__Host-sessionCookieKeeps a verified locksmith or one of our team signed in. Sent only to our site; scripts on the page can’t read it.
- Set by
- Us
- Kept for
- 5 days (1 for our team), or until you sign out
locksmith100:sign-in-emailLocal storageRemembers the email address a locksmith asked a sign-in link for, so the link works when it’s opened on the same device.
- Set by
- Us
- Kept for
- Until the link is opened, then deleted
Firebase sign-in dataIndexedDBGoogle’s Firebase sign-in library holds the sign-in for a moment while it hands it to our server, then we sign it out.
- Set by
- Us, using Google Firebase
- Kept for
- A few seconds
Drivers who send a request never sign in: their request page is reached by its private link, and nothing is stored on their device.
What we don't use
- No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no social media plug-ins.
- No analytics cookies. We count page views on our server: the page sends no identifier and stores nothing (no cookie, local storage or session storage), and only daily totals are kept (the privacy notice lists them). Pages viewed by signed-in locksmiths and our team aren't counted.
Other sites we send you to
These set their own cookies on their own sites, under their own notices:
- Google, when one of our team signs in with Google.
- Stripe, when a member pays by card on Stripe Checkout (Stripe uses cookies to prevent fraud).
- WhatsApp and your phone, when you tap WhatsApp or Call on a locksmith's card.
Map tiles load from Esri, which sees your IP address when it sends them. We don't ask Esri to set cookies.
Why there's no cookie banner
The law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) lets a site store what is strictly necessary for a service you asked for without asking first. That is all we store. If we ever want to store anything else, analytics cookies for example, we will ask first, with a clear choice to say no, and update this page before we start.
Turning them off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Drivers lose nothing. Locksmiths and our team can't stay signed in without the __Host-session cookie. The privacy notice covers everything else we keep.
